INDIA'S cardamom crop has suffered due to a lull in the monsoon showers between June 5 and 20, according to growers from Idukki, a major cardamom-growing district in Kerala. Growers in the country said that, while there had been good monsoon showers during the end of May, the crop has been hit badly by a shortage of rain in the first two weeks of June, which is the ripening period for cardamom.
