India’s spices export up 41% in April – Dec 2013 as compared to the previous year same period. During the period a total export of 57,1680 tonnes with valued 9,433 crore as against 44,9926 tonnes valued at 6,696 crore during April - December 2012. Chilli netted a foreign exchange worth 1,846 crore with a total export volume of 2,05,500 tonnes. Pepper and Cardamom (small) marked an increase of 41 per cent and 23 per cent respectively in value, with a corresponding export volume of 15,350 tonnes and 2,080 tonnes.
