INDIAN cardamom growing areas have received good rains and the crop is expected to be good in the forthcoming 2009/10 season.
The new season starts on August 1 and and picking of the new crop might begin from mid-August. Meannwhile, current crop arrivals at the auctions held in Kerala and Tamil Nadu are of inferior quality but are fetching higher prices due to strong demand, market sources told Business Line.
