INDIAN spice exports hit an all-time high of Rs44.36bn ($1.04bn) in the 2007/08 season led by good sales of pepper and chilli, well ahead of the Rs35.75bn achieved in 2006/07. In volume terms, the country's overseas sales of spices were 19% ahead of the previous season at 444,250 tonnes compared with 373,750 tonnes before.
